Will this bother my neighbors?
Less than you think. Two people on mats is quiet. Pad work is the loud part, and it is easy to move the time or close the door.
Usually not. This is two people, not a class. No music, no air horn, nobody counting reps through a speaker. I coach at a normal volume.
The pads are the whole story. A clean shot on a Thai pad is a sharp crack and it carries down a street at night. See what pad work is. Everything else is quiet, especially with the mats down.
Fixes are easy. Mats down, daylight or early evening instead of 9pm, garage door partway, pad rounds outside on grass because grass eats the sound. Best of all, tell your neighbors. A ten-second heads-up over the fence turns mystery noise into a thing they know about, and mystery noise is what generates complaints. Some of them will ask to join, and they are welcome to stand there and watch: see who else can be around.
In an apartment the person to think about is downstairs, and the fix is to move anything with impact out to the lawn. See apartment training. If your HOA has quiet hours, check them and tell me what we are working with.
