Is my kid old enough to train?
It depends on the kid more than the birthday. Rex has coached kids and youth since 2008 and will be straight with you about yours.
Age is the wrong question. I have had five year olds who were ready and nine year olds who were not, and the birthday told me nothing either time.
What I am actually looking for is whether your child can listen for a couple of minutes at a stretch, follow one simple instruction, and keep their hands to themselves when asked. After that, two things matter more than anything:
Can they cope with being corrected? Not agree with it, just cope. A session is a run of small corrections, and a kid who falls apart at the first one is in for a long hour.
Do they want to be there, even slightly? A child dragged to a session by a parent is sixty miserable minutes for everybody, and I will say so rather than take the booking.
A private session at home is the gentlest way in there is. No big room, no crowd of other children, no waiting your turn in front of anyone.
So tell me how old they are, what they are like, and what you are hoping for. Confidence, discipline, somewhere to put the energy, or a teenager who genuinely wants to fight. If my honest answer is not yet, that is not a closed door. Kids change fast and six months is a long time at that age.
If they are ready, what happens in a first session gives you both something concrete to picture. If your child is quiet or hates being watched, read training a shy kid first, because it changes how I run the hour. Two of them close in age? See training siblings together.
If you want a firm minimum age, ask me when you message. I make that call child by child, not off a number on a page.
