How do I check that any of this is true?

You should check. Anyone who gets annoyed at being asked is telling you something.

Start with the names. Tony Ferguson, Jeremy Jackson, Lodune Sincaid, Chris Beal, Jesse Newell and Joe Henle are public fighters with public records. Fight databases and old event listings are free to search, and they are all on the fighters page so you can go through them one at a time. That list is the loudest claim on this site, so it is the one worth testing hardest.

Then the gym. Rock N Roll Fight Company has been in Ventura since 2008 and sat at 817 E Thompson Blvd for years. Old listings, reviews, photos and archived versions of the previous websites are still out there, and Hostility MMA, where I taught from 2007, is documented too. Eighteen years in one county leaves a trail, and trails are hard to fake. See the history of the gym.

Then ask people, which is better than anything written on this site, including this sentence. Ventura County is small. Walk into any gym in Ventura, Oxnard or Camarillo and say my name. Somebody there trained with me or knows someone who did.

Then ask me directly. Belts, lineage, who I cornered, what I did and did not do with a given fighter. I will tell you when something was a long time ago, and I will tell you which parts of a fighter’s career I had nothing to do with, which is a better sign than a coach who claims all of it. Ask me the less flattering questions as well. What am I competing in now, what have I stopped doing, how long ago was that. See whether I still compete.
