Fight-Day Corner · Point Muay Thai & Point Boxing
For athletes
You're ready to step in. Who's in your corner?
You've done the rounds on the bag and the pads. There's a point Muay Thai or point boxing event on the calendar. This page is about what's still missing.
The answer
Coach Rex.
In your corner.
The training, the warm-up, the corner and the nerve, for point Muay Thai sparring and point boxing, whenever your own coach can't be there.

-
A coach in your corner
Your coach can't make the date, or you train on your own. Rex steps in: he learns your game, shows up on event day and works your corner.
- Point Muay Thai sparring
- Point boxing matches
- Events across Ventura County and nearby
-
Try it the right way
Point formats are built for finding out. Rex preps you for the rules and the scoring, so your first bout tells you something true about yourself.
- Prep sessions before the event
- Rules and scoring walked through
- An honest debrief afterwards
-
Someone who's been there
Rex turned pro at 42 and has walked fighters from first class to the UFC. He knows what the nerves feel like, and what to say about them.
- Game plan you can hold on to
- Calm voice between rounds
- No pressure to go on if you're not ready
What Rex handles
From sign-up to the final bell
-
Weeks before
Prep sessions one on one: the point format, your best weapons, what judges score, and a simple plan.
-
Fight week
Weight and rest check, a light session, gear checked: gloves, mouthguard, shin guards or headgear as the rules require.
-
Event day
Check-in and rules meeting together, hands wrapped, then a proper warm-up on the pads to get your timing and breathing right.
-
In the corner
Water, towel, the clock, and one or two clear instructions between rounds. Not a speech.
-
After
Win or lose, you'll talk it through: what worked, what to train next, and whether you want another one.
Questions
Before you sign up
What are point Muay Thai sparring and point boxing?
Amateur formats where you score points for clean, controlled techniques instead of trying to hurt your opponent. Rules, protective gear and contact levels depend on the event, and they're a common first step into competition.
I already have a coach. Can Rex still corner me?
Yes. This service exists for when your coach can't be there. Rex will work with your coach's game plan, not replace it.
I've never competed. Is this for me?
Yes, that's who it's for. Rex will be honest about whether you're ready and help you pick a sensible first event.
How do I find out about rates?
Rates are discussed personally with Coach Rex through Instagram direct message. Send him the event name, the date and your division.
Got an event? DM Rex three things:
- The event and the date
- Your division and experience
- Whether your own coach is involved
